I am not tall.. 5'14" yet I desire to be able to see "eye to eye" with a partner.
The search for me is very international as I am not locality challenged, can move anywhere for the right reason and my work travels with me.
I am finding it hard to find such a person, getting past the normal requirements and getting responses on various websites. Most dating sites do not give enough credence to height in their selection criteria.
Is this a regular problem for others as well? Has this site solved some of those issues?

AZTall and Shayob... I agree with you about E-Harmony. I gave them a try a few years back and even as my age at that time of 40 they paired me with men much older. Even my age now, I'm far more active than women 10-20 years younger than myself, so the age factor does mean something to someone like me. I've met some nice attractive men over 50, however, to think in terms of long term, they would not be a match for me 10 years from now. Our preferences are important, such as, not wanting a partner who smokes. I can say that my matches on E-Harmony would change if I sat down and answered all the questions again. It's not that I would try to give a different answer, rather, how we answer reflects our personality/mood/happenings in everyday life/confidence at the given time. I will agree somewhat with QBob, to at least be open to someone that you wouldn't normally have chosen. My desired search for taller men is based on the last person I dated. Like most women on this site, my preference for tall men is part of the attraction. I know it's not just a factor of height, as a man has to feel secure and have confidence in himself... which is very sexy.
P.S. allurable, it's great that your search can be "international". When you least expect it you will find the one for you... and don't be surprised that if you travel the earth searching, that once you land back in your home town you'll find the one for you was there all along. Good luck in your search!

I had the same problem with E-Harmony too, Shayob. They kept trying to match me with women who were 4'14" to 4'17". I got frustrated with them, and did not renew when my membership ran out.
E-Harmony places to much emphasis on matching raw data, without considering what catches our eye to begin with.

You're right, it is a problem. At just over 5'12.125" I find it very difficult to find someone that I can see eye-to-eye with. Hang in there, somewhere there's a match just for you!

Allurable, if I stand on a stool or my tippy-toes, I can almost look you in the eye. Is looking you eye-to-eye a definitive criteria for you? What is it about the women on this site that makes you pass us all by? What EXACTLY are you looking for in a woman? Inquiring minds want to know....

Okay allurable, here is a reply for you. First, at 5'14" you are tall, not a giant but tall.
You say most dating sites do not give enough credence to height and I would have to agree on some. I know I tried E-Harmony a while back and they didn't seem to put anything to height, and all the matches they provided me with were well under 6 feet (or I guess I should say 5'12").
So I have seen the issue you discussed but does this site solve that? I think what this site does, is increase the likelihood of finding someone tall. But most of the people who have contacted me from this site have been shorter than me, which isn't necessarily bad but I prefer for someone to be close to my height.
It's still just a website not really much different from others in my mind. I have "met" some interesting people from other parts of the world that I would not have met if I had been on other sites and that has been a plus, but all in all I don't see a lot of difference between this and other sites.
