How far... in the name of "research" from my base (home) in Cairns Australia (Port Douglas to be exact) I have been to Dallas (Texas), London (UK), Geneva (Switzerland). As a write this I am in Geneva.
Made some amazing friends, some tall ones, yet none off this site yet or found "the" one... which is a whole new topic.
Most people are not able to move due to work etc so my ability to relocate is out of the ordinary, and the distance most people look is no more than close to home.
The priority doesn't seem to be in getting the right partner but rather in finding one that fits the current less than ideal situation, reminiscent of the "doing the same thing and expecting a different result" approach.
