Quoting KeithWorrell:
I've been fired up the ladder of success, getting better jobs from driveway salesman to automotive technician and eventually to Quality Assurance manager and also as a business consultant.
Life experience is called EQ.
1. It takes me about ten interviews to get a job regardless of where I apply. 2. EQ alert: Never take a lesser job.
I was raised to learn what I want to learn not what a college specifies, and so have studied Electrical Engineering, Business Management, Healthcare, Education and Psychology. I have an Associate's degree but more than a Master's worth of study. College knowledge is called IQ.
I'm terrified of meeting people, taking tests and stage performance. So I've been an active member of Toastmasters over the past ten years, practicing public speaking. I discovered all my fears are untrue. EQ alert: When I do what I fear, the fear becomnes enthusiasm and listeners catch it too.
I've discovered my resourcefulness and ability to cut costs has resulted in lower paychecks than my peers. Probably because I can cut costs of what I need, if not exactly when I want it. EQ alert: I discovered the best time to go shopping is when I don't have money to spend.
Today I went for an echocardiogram then put up 4 ads for a calculator at the local community college. I rode my bike and took public transportation.
I am volunteering to assist at the Bike Philly event next weekend. I certified as an EMT in 2002, and if there are any accidents I'll be able to help and assess medical need. They expect between 2000 and 3000 bicycle riders, rain or shine, riding 8 - 20+ miles of closed-to-traffic roads.
I've dated a woman over the past 6 years to June, 2006. The relationship ended in disaster and she 302'd me to a crisis unit. My church has been extremely supportive in my new growth since. I took fltying lessons in 1981. Trainer showed me a hammerhead stall. Some things have to be done right the first time. EQ alert: life goals ...
