Here's one I just finished reading and highly recommend: "The End of the Spear". It's a true story that happened and is still unfolding in our lifetime. It's a story of incredible love, forgiveness and transformation. A man whose dad was speared by savages when he was a young child, goes to live with the very people who murdered his dad, and who used to have a homicide rate of 60%. The book was also made into a movie and came out on DVD not too long ago. I've seen the DVD and thought it was good, but would recommend reading the book first - it helped me better understand some of what was in the DVD. The bloggers will delete any weblinks I could post about this story, so it you want to do your own search, look up the words "Steve Saint" and "Mincaye". You'll find a LOT on the web about this amazing story.
Read any good books lately?

If you liked the movie, then the book is a definite MUST READ. The stories of when Mincaye and one of his tribal friends visited the U.S. are worth the read alone!
So we have YOU to thank for movies on Delta? THANKS! :)

I agree, the movie was captivating, The book was probably incredible. I tend to see a lot of movies, I was responsible for downloading the mp3 movies onto all the Delta aircraft. The problem is that you get to see a lot of the first half of the movies. This is one of the few that I got to see the whole thing. BigAirplaneGuy

Susie, I just read an excerpt from the 'Book of Ruth' (by Jane Hamilton). Sounds good! Noticed that it's one of "Oprah's Book Club" recommended reads. Thanks for sharing.

I like Grisham books as well. I read the Mitford series not too long ago, and thoroughly enjoyed those books. Have also read several books by Francine Rivers...I'd recommend any and all books written by her. Warning: You might miss sleep!
Another book to consider is "Life and Death in Shanghai" by Nien Cheng. It's about the Chinese cultural revolution, and a story of a remarkable woman who was thrown into prison at that time (actually, she wrote the book!). It's one of those books I didn't think I'd be that interested in, but read it as part of a book club. Once I started reading it...well...another book you lose sleep over!
